Yesterday Carlos and I went out to Crystal Cove to tide pool. I was once again shocked and appalled at the lack of biodiversity in the tide pools along the California Coast, compared to 15 years ago. No sea stars. No nudibranch. No sea hare. No sculpin. Only a smattering of hermit crabs. We didn't even see any urchin in this area.
