Sure, Rubio makes a great meme, but...

It was awkward, it was ugly, and it became the instant meme on Facebook and other social media sites.

I actually felt bad for Marco Rubio,  because no one is analyzing what he said, no one cares about the Republican rebuttal, and the entire thing has been turned from criticism of the president into a big joke.

There's a problem with this.

First off, let me start by saying that I absolutely disagree with Marco Rubio's rebuttal.  I thought he made a good go of appealing to the emotions of the right, that he totally misrepresented the president's statements, and that he's a total political jerk.   But he has a message, and it's important to know what the "other side" is thinking and planning.  Instead, what we know is that his water bottle was too far away and that he's a noisy drinker.

The media and public haven't rebutted his rebuttal with facts, with rational ideas, with intelligence, instead they've merely mocked him.  What he said has been all but lost.

It makes me sick, because this only seems to reaffirm the Right's claim of media manipulation.

I'd like to see some substance here.
