For the love of Rungus
I've been toying for a couple years now with the idea of doing some volunteer work at the BioPark. I've really wanted to be a touch pool volunteer, but it made me kinda miserable that they have so few animals, and very few inverts on display. Well, what should I expect from a landlocked desert state? My recent trip has shown me that our aquarium is pretty darn good compared to what else is out there. Of course we're no Mote, no Cabrillo, and certainly no Aquarium of Georgia... but for a city our size, we've got a friggin' excellent aquarium.
But my recent edition of BioScape has launched me into action... surprisingly, not at the aquarium. Next Monday I'll be applying for a volunteer position at the zoo.
Why?
Because they've gone and got the ONE ANIMAL I look for in every zoo since meeting Rungus at the Aquarium of the Pacific a half decade ago.
Yup. Albuquerque's got a binturong.
